CANA Utilities has installed underground fibre optic cable throughout the province to upgrade the Alberta fibre communications and service systems. Some of the more noteworthy projects are Edmonton to Fort McMurray, Calgary to Carway, Edmonton to Calgary, Calgary to Montana and Calgary to Edmonton. These comprehensive projects involved: feasibility analysis, budget cost estimates, right-of-way and route acquisition, local fibre and duct installation, splicing and approvals and surface rehabilitation.
CANA Utilities has the equipment to ‘blow in’ the fibre cable. This is the industry-desired cable sensitive alternative to the traditional ‘linear pulling’ method. Both methods have been used successfully in urban duct systems for the cities of Lethbridge, Calgary, Edmonton and Fort McMurray.
Some of the smaller fibre optic installations projects have been the Pine Coulee Fibre Link, Lethbridge to Coaldale, and Del Bonita to Sunburst (US border).
CANA Utilities has experienced employees and the equipment to install fibre optic communication cable in all conditions and any season. We offer turnkey fibre trunk lines, as well as splicing, aerial cable placement and removal, trenching, conduit systems and underground cable placement.
